The Gideons International objective is to win people for Christ by personally sharing their faith and distributing God’s Word around the world. Best recognized for their work with hotels, they also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations accessible to those who need or don’t know they need the Bible. More than 2 billion Bibles and New Testaments have been placed by The Gideons through the grace of God and through the loving support of donors and churches, like St John’s. On average, more than two copies of God’s Word are distributed per second and over one million Bibles and New Testaments are distributed every four days. St. John’s members regularly volunteer with the Gideons by going to San Quentin Prison, schools, and universities as well as regularly contributes to their needs.
